THANK YOU!

I'm not an overly emotional person by nature, but....well...Okay, cue the violins.

Two days ago I said a prayer, took a deep breath and made the leap to start a blog.  When I hit the publish button, I honestly didn't know what to expect.  Would it look OK?  Would anyone read it?  Will anyone follow me?  What kind of feedback will I get?  Do I have time for this?

Well, within minutes of my first post, I had a flood of emails, texts, calls, compliments, encouragement, advise and cheers.  I can't tell you how happy I am that I took that leap.  I want to thank all of you for a warm welcome to blog land.

A special thanks to my friend Joy at http://www.savvycityfarmer.com  for being my very first follower.  She is an inspiration, a very talented woman, and a kindred spirit with a big heart.  She told me that blogging was addictive, and she was right.  For someone who thought she was "Too busy to blog", I seem to bending time and space to make it happen.

So, again.  To everyone reading, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Oh, and thanks to all my dedicated customers as well.  Nearly everything pictured from my first post has SOLD.

I thought I might share with you my current obsession.  A somewhat recent find by my dear hubby has thrown me into a bold graphic frenzy.  When he brought this chair home, my heart and mind immediately started racing.

I just loved the funky paint, the curvy shape and the bold, multi-colored graphics on the fabric.  I've recovered many stools, chairs, benches and even settees in a multitude of fabrics, but my customers usually prefer neutral.  However,  this chair just made me want to do something different.

I didn't have any fabric like that on hand, but I did have a stack of vintage burlap sacks with some interesting graphics and my usual arsenal of paint and other brews I use to add a little more character to the frame.

So, after I did this...

my customers asked for more.  So, I did this....

and this....

and this....

And I turned this....

Into this.

And to think, I almost sold that stack of burlap sacks.  I was running low on the plain and simple black graphic patterns my customers were requesting.  I guess I turned them around, because I have not been able to keep up with the demand.

And yes, that initial find that sparked this frenzy has since SOLD.  I'm almost regretting it, but it walked away with one of my favorite customers.

Be back soon.  I'm off to hunt and gather more great finds, and chase down bold graphic fabric.  Burlap or otherwise, I'm on a roll.
