We are actively searching for my dream home (or something that comes close), and I've been thinking quite a bit about how I would like to decorate it. This past weekend, I purchased certain items with just that in mind. As I set up a few of my finds last night, I noticed something.
I went out to clip roses for this iron urn. It was only $12.
I love this miniature version as well, and the ornate dresser box. Mary was an estate sale find.
The table came from my good friend Bea at Kane. The cement urn was only $5 because the base was a bit crumbly. That didn't bother me at all.
I was also drawn to this cement plaque with scroll design, and the silverplate toothpick holder.
Do you see a pattern forming here?
In regards to my cherub mirror dilemma (to paint or not to paint), I have decided to leave it alone for now.
I've always considered myself eclectic when it comes to what I like to live with, but there is definitely a dominant factor at play.
What do you think my style is?
I think you have an eclectic style. Thanks for sharing with my newbie party.
ReplyDeleteYou are a romantic garden style girl who craves lots of visual texture and things that say, "I have been around and weathered the storm." You are thoughtful, and not quick to make decisions...very paced in your idea making. You are drawn to ornate items that often incorporate some sort of metal or concrete. (Sounds like a horoscope or palm reading!!! lol)
ReplyDeleteI would say your style is chippy and shabby vintage:) I love your urns! What a great idea to use the little one as a toothpick holder.
