I will quite possibly have a find or redesign to show you every day this coming week. Let me start with a garage sale table I've had buried in my garage for a while now.
If the finish looks familiar, that's because it is. I used my STONE FINISH. Let me show you what the table looked like before.
Very plain, but a cute shape. I made a multitude of roses out of air drying clay, and attached them in a circle around the top edge. I filled in the gaps with plaster and sanded it smooth. After multiple layers of WHITE GESSO, I finished it off.
A finial for added decoration.
Before
After
See ya tomorrow.

I'm so glad I saw this! A while ago I bought like a pound of the air drying clay for another project. Used it for making dog tags and thank you tags, etc. I wondered about using it to embellish wood frames. Love what you did with this and thank you thank you for inspiration! Your roses on this table make a wonderful table FABULOUS!

Hi Rosemary, What a beautiful table and I love the roses. Did you use a mold to make the roses or were they hand carved? Gorgeous!

Sherry

ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI already commented on your table- but came back to say, I saw an occasional table similar to the one you made (which looks adorable by the way); at One Kings Lane.
Now I can't find it to send you a link or comparable picture...NOR can I remember their price (which was probably OUTRAGEOUS)
You did a great job--making your roses and adding that finial.
Lovely and for LESS $$$ -- I bet!
