This desk redesign involves a combination of techniques I've shared with you.
The before.
No, this was not a priceless antique, but a repro with factory stenciling.
The paint treatment is basically the same one I used here, only I used more of my custom blue.
I added my rose applique to the drawer. Then I brushed on watered down black gesso,
leaving a little of the drip, and dabbing in other spots. A treatment similar to the stone effect from my last post.
I wanted more of a weathered, been around for a while, look than the frenchy chair.
For a little surprise inside, instead of lining the drawer with wallpaper, I did this.
I'm happy with my weathered roses.
