Laced Again

I knew what I wanted this three drawer chest to look like as soon as I saw it. Heavy white gesso with a little white paint mixed in, silvery lace design, and little silvered roses as an accent.

I sprayed silk flowers with metallic silver. I left a little of the original color peeking through.

The before.

  21. Your such an artists with that gesso! I have the kids in school and before I get called to sub, I am going to get my dining room chairs and a chest done with this gesso. I like using a mix that is heavier gesso than paint. It seems tougher. Really am enjoy using it for different projects. Thanks for
    telling me about it!:)

  28. This dresser is so romantic. I just love the flower and the lace effect. I can't envision it in any other color than white. Maybe it's because that's my favorite color to paint furniture lol. So I guess I'm bias. Anyway great job Rosemary.

  31. I just found you and have been looking through your posts.

You are truly talented. I havn't seen anyone in blogland use gesso and glue before.

I taught decorative painting and I used those mediums over twenty years ago, way before the manufactured mixes they have now.

I host a Bunny Hop Party every Wednesday and I would like to invite you. The linky is open until Sunday, but don't wait too long ;)
