I'm in love. With my husband, and this beautifully chippy iron bed he brought home today from a resale shop. He knew I would love it.
It's 53 inches wide and 62 inches at the highest point.
I love the patina on this piece. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but I love it, love it, love it.
Last week I was without my computer for two days, and it felt like two weeks. I'm still catching up. I'll be back with finds, redesigns, tutorials, etc.

I like your bed, it is great. I had one very simuliar that I bought when I lived in New York. I got it at an estate sale and the owner was Christie Brinkley and Peter cook, they were getting a big D. That was in Montauk ,New York ,aka, the Hampton's. I paid $900.00. I bet you all got a better price. I am so glad he found it for you. Just Great. Richard from My Old Historic House.

Ahem.......I think I love your husband too *winks* He has quite the eye for treasure. I too had almost the same bed, but in white iron. Yours is gorgeous just the way it is. And I'm glad your puter is back and running. Vanna
ReplyDeleteWow ! Beautiful bed ,can't wait to see what you do to it ,if anything.
ReplyDeleteI love iron beds .
That is a beautiful bed. Although it would be pretty white, I also like it just like it is. Bet it would be pretty as a garden trellis too. You're very lucky to have a husband with a good eye for these things.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, what a gorgeous bed! I have been looking for something like that for YEARS with no luck!!

That bed is very similar to the bed my husband and I bought when we first got married 40 plus years ago. We still use it in our guest bedroom and love it. It's been painted a few times (our daughter used it for a while and painted it HOT pink). It's been a fun piece of furniture and you'll make yours a wonderful addition to your home I'm sure. Yes you DO have a nice husband!
ReplyDeleteI love it, too!! Love the chippy, rusty, patina look. If I had it, I would not do a thing but clean it, and throw a beautiful comforter and lots of pillows on it. Great find. Visiting from Treasure Hunt Thursday.
ReplyDeleteYour hubby is certainly a keeper, Rosemary! That bed is absolutely gorgeous!

Hi Rosemary - I'm coming to you via MMS FFF - and I think it's pretty amazing - how many times have I seen a thumbnail and thought, "Oh that one looks interesting," and when I click on it, it comes to YOU! It's always a pleasant surprise, and if I could, I'd follow you more than once.:)
