How do you like my granite top table?
This is what my husband and I pulled up to at an impromptu garage sale. A nice heavy metal base, but a pressed board top with wood trim.
The minute I saw it, I thought about the piece of granite I picked up at another garage sale last year.
I knew I had to have the table. When we got it home and laid the granite on top, it was a perfect fit. There was an overhang of about an inch all around. I gave the base several dry brush coats of white gesso. I wanted some of the undertone to show. It dried to a nice weathered finish.
The granite actually had a raw edge, which I went over with a dark stain. This is what it looked like at first.
After.
This was a pretty quick redesign.
I love it, and it weighs a ton.
