What I Like

I've been asked what type of items I have in my house. Well, this is what I'm looking at right now, while I make this post.


I did a post a while back called "Nesting", where I shared some of the things I like to keep.



I love to use garden items inside. I use metal urns as candle holders.


I have a cement squirrel sitting on the large buffet in my living room. Yes, that is another urn, and my purple transfer ware bowl, which holds mini white pumpkins.


My granite top table ended up in the corner of the living room holding this vignette. The plaque was one of my fave finds.



I picked up this pair of planters this past weekend at a moving sale.





Planters don't have to hold plants. This is how I'm planning to use these.



I've been told my style is romantic, garden, architectural. Sure. I just like what I like. I definitely have a passion for ornate items. This silver angel bell is a recent acquisition. Love her.

    I love your style, Rosemary! I would definitely call my style Romantic...with a comfortable cottage edge. I hadn't thought to put candles in urns before! I love it! This was a fun post! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful ideas!

    I love your style. It makes me feel European,..I guess French maybe. My style is,..um,...I don't know what to call it. I like clean lines on furniture, but not too modern-looking, and an earthy palette. And I like it neat. :)

    I have a passion for garden urns also. Sometimes I use them at parties full of ice and wine, with a liner as they tend to leak. Thanks for sharing, Richard from My Old Historic House.

    I can tell by your descriptions that you have a great love for what you decide to place in your home. All the items have a lovely patina that comes with age...Chippy, and old with a European and Romantic design. Best of all, it comes with careful attention and a love for items that are old and cherished.

    If I had to describe my style I would say it is a combination of French, and Belgium design with old fabrics in linen's and cotton and items with a lovely patina that can be used in different ways.

    My style is very much like your's! I love all of the romantic, garden and architectural pieces. I can picture those new urn finds with glass tops and lights inside for really neat little tables! I love how garden pieces are just as comfortble inside the house as they are outside! Thank you so much for sharing your home!

    Love this style. I could have everything in your pretty pictures sitting in my home too. That chippy cement urn is fabulous and so are the planters you're using to hold magazines.

    Rosemary, I like your style quite a bit! It is so romantic and chippy.

    I collect three things: MacKenzie-Childs pottery, chippy salvaged wood picture frames, and books. So I guess I like imperfect, colorful things because that's what all three have in common (especially a well-loved book).

    I also like comfortable shabby chic-style upholstery. So I my style is colorful beach cottage (I think)......

    Mine? Totally eclectic! I have lots of antique, vintage, some modern and old world...my house is 105 years old...so you will find most anything here...from leather, antique pottery, silver or wood.

    I also love the white on white look..so I did that in my bathroom with my old claw foot bath tub.

    These days, I think anything goes!!! I love that we can do whatever we like, don't you?

    simply stated ..."the way you put together the things you love, comes from the way you feel about them"

    I love seeing garden decor inside, Rosemary. There's nothing better than bringing the outside in - and the inside, out. A special way of extending one's living space. :) I would call my style French country farmhouse. Simple, uncluttered, a little rustic mixed with a lot of white. :)
