Magnetic

Are you ready to really think outside the box? Take a look at my magnetic board.


The magnet is  a vintage bottle cap,


to which I attached a small magnet.



However, that's not the most interesting thing about this magnetic board. My board is actually...........



Yes, it's one of my dollies. When I bought this piece, I just loved the unusual shape, and patina. I really wasn't thinking about it's original purpose.  Today I was trying to think of another use for it.  Hmmmm, I wondered if my cart was magnetic.   It was.  I made the magnets a while back for a different magnetic board, and I love the way they look against this  texture.



My husband and two teen sons are very much accustomed to my quirky ideas. So, they didn't see anything unusual about this vignette.  I don't know if I will leave it in this spot, but what a conversation piece.




So, if you have an interesting piece of metal, see if it's magnetic. You could create a very unique magnetic board.

    Those bottle cap magnets would look great in a retro style kitchen! The magnetic dolley is a creative way to display them too. Very interesting!

    I'm loving your creativity with the message board. I never would have thought to use it in that purpose, but it really works with the vintage bottle caps. Your basket of hydrangeas is very pretty too!

    I'm loving the magnets and the dolly. I've been making bottlecap magnets for a few years now (thanks to my daughter who got into botttlecaps big time) and they're my absolute favorite magnet for the fridge! Pretty cool you used the dolly.

    Love the idea of making magnets out of vintage bottle caps. Using the dolly as a magnetic board is a very unique idea. You can just about put that anywhere.

    How awesome! It looks like an old gas tank (gas like oxygen) roller. We have them in our lab, and I would never have thought of them in this way. You have such a good eye!

    That is an unusual dolly! I don't have any metal pieces right now but I did see a truck going down the road yesterday full of old scrap metal. I was probably the only person on the road that saw all the potential in that pile of "junk". I also love what you did with the horseshoes. We have tons of them and I never ever thought to use them as handles. Fantastic! xo
