Redesigning With Parts III

What do you do with a bucket of horseshoes, a vintage box/crate, and random metal?




I started with these.




















No paint needed with this redesign.  This is what I came up with.





I attached the horseshoes to both sides,




used my vintage rubber stamps for the lettering,





attached my metal piece (these were originally used as decorative backing for drawer pulls), and pressed a numbered tack in the center.  I added a little antiquing gel to the tack.




It makes a nice little carrier, planter, a place to stash stuff, etc.





Right now I like my dried roses.


I have a painted variation I'll share later.  How would you use it?

    LOVE it!!!!! What a fabulous idea, Rosemary:) I would fill it with dried flowers like Hydrageas or greens for Christmas.....But then again it would be perfect for rolled towels in the bath or kitchen. OMG so many uses!!!!!

    It is really lovely and you can use it for so many things. Why not put a lot of candles in it and keep them on a drawer. Or maybe nice bottles with olive oils or something :O) I love it and again you have used old used things.

    You are one of the MOST creative people I have ever encountered - you never cease to amaze me! I love using wood boxes (depending on size) for towels/face cloths in the bathroom. I like bright white towels mixed in rustic containers ... I wish I could come across some numbered tacks like that - super cool!

    I love the horseshoe handles on the wooden box. So clever! I never think of things like that! And by golly, I have some of those screen numbers that I found in my Mom's junk drawer. If I can remember where I put them, I think I'll get them out and use them for something. Thanks again for the inspiration!
