I've been playing with vignettes all day. I brought in some of my urns I've had sitting outside. I'm planning to use them in my Christmas displays and decor. In addition to frames, I've also been giving lots of miscellaneous items from the garage the gesso treatment.
Another one of my favorite urns. Love the figures. A white wash with a little rubbing back can give you a soft weathered finish.
I'm already making more trivet plaques.
This little urn is holding one of several metal flowers I took off of a broken lamp.
The metal flowers here were taken from the base of a broken compote. I love the patina, and I have more.
I purchased this angel at an estate sale as part of a group of figures. I think she will be perfect for Christmas decor. The frame in back is a perfect example of what I DON'T paint. It's late 1800's with the original gilding. Very festive, don't you think.

LOVE all the white! So glad to know I'm not the only one with lots of things in my garage - ha!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I get tired of painting with white paint, but it seems I always love the outcome. I had wanted everything in my booth to be white, gray, wood tones...but I didn't stick to my plan. Everything is beautiful - thanks for sharing.

So gorgeous,I love all your vignettes:-) Hugs, Biljana
ReplyDeleteLove the monochromatic nature of this vignette. Reminds me of snow (for the holidays). I think you need to gesso a Christmas tree now! That look achieved on a tree would be phenomenal with the rest of your decor.
ReplyDeleteI'm bringing the outside in too...though you are certainly getting more accomplished than I am.
ReplyDeleteHi lovely lady... I thought I was following your blog???? Couldn't find you on my reading list, so have no idea what happened. I am following now!
ReplyDeleteVeronica
I've been putting off my gesso treatment project. Just brush it on and rub it back a bit, right? I love the look- just lacking confidence I think.
ReplyDeleteRosemary, it's all just so lovely! Love the angel!! Thank you for the visit and the sweet comment @TheDedicatedHouse. It means the world. Hope you have a grand evening. Toodles, Kathryn

ReplyDeleteBeautiful things and lovely vignettes Rosemary. The pics are really pretty too.
ReplyDeleteAlways, such lovely stuff, Rosemary. I love your photography, too; serene and inspirational
ReplyDeleteI love all your planters, but the one with the figures is my favorite. So shabby and pretty! Planters are so wonderful since you can do so much with them. I often put towels or magazines in ones I'm not using for plants.
ReplyDeleteThose metal flowers are lovely just like they are. Can't wait to see how you use them!
Rosemary, I wish I could go to my garage and find treasures like these. Oh my goodness, you are like a fairy with her wand, you wave it and I love it. All your white washed urns and frames are gorgeous. I can't wait to see all your Christmas decor. I do learn something every time you post.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
