Today, I made a little mantel shelf for my studio. Since I've been practically living in there lately, I thought it added a nice cozy touch.
I don't know what this was originally, I just liked the shape. It was part of a pile of wood fragments I picked it up at a garage sale.
I added a little embellishment,
gave it a couple of white coats, and some distressing. I then turned it upside down, and added hangers.
Now it's hanging on a little patch of wall in my studio.
It's a soft place for my eye to land while working, and I can play with little vignettes. The mantel is 26 inches long. I put together a monochromatic vignette with some of my small vintage pieces.
What do you think?
