When I said I was working on a footstool to go with my "Weathered Chair", you probably didn't expect this.
I didn't want a footstool that was a typical match. I wanted something that would compliment it. So, I went with an advertising look.
The Paris theme is still there, and so is the grey. However, the design is different, and so it the shade of grey. This is how the little stool looked originally.
I added appliques, and alternated layers of white gesso, light grey, and dark grey paint. If you look really close, you can even see a hint of a fleur de lis. I did a lot of dry brushing, washing, and rubbing back to get this muted look.
I used my "Splendid Blender" method to transfer the lettering I printed,
and the chandelier image.
A little distressing, and I had the look I wanted.
I think I'm done with my frenchy corner. For now.

What a perfect fit for the Frebchy corner! I love that graphic of the chandelier -- all of the steps really paid off making this another one of your stunning pieces!

I love how the stool mirrors the chandelier on the larger piece in back. This looks like a corner you would find in a magazine. Just awesome.

Rosemary another FAA transformation! Talk about night and day! Love your french corner! That gray'd lime wash finish gets me every single darn time! I wish my whole house was filled with that hue! Great job on that footstool! Good choice on the graphic , it fits perfectly with the French corner! I haven't found the blendy pen either so am using other methods but I haven't given up yet! I know it's out there somewhere!

Somehow I was expecting better coverage than I am getting. I'd love to see a demonstration of how you work on video!! Have you thought of doing that or have you done any? I just love your work.
