This redesign started life as a round piece of wood,
and three coat hooks.
I screwed the hooks to the bottom, gave it a unified color with gesso and paint,
and stenciled the alphabet to the top. I used the same technique as the "Paris Cafe" sign I did with two different colors.
I wanted a worn look, so I sanded the lettering. I then went over it with two shades of wax. Instant footstool, stand, pedestal, etc.
I have a few variations on this I'll share soon. What would you use it for?

Brilliant! You never cease to amaze with your ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love it, Rosemary! Very clever! I'd use it as a table raiser piece. You know, like when you are having a buffet and you want things at different heights. This would be great to put the dishes on or a variety of other things.
ReplyDeleteSuper cool idea Rosemary! I would use it as a plant stand to elevate something special~
ReplyDeleteSuper good idea--I would also use it to lift displays higher, or even a plant stand. Great job, as usual!
ReplyDeletevery pretty to pretty to put on the ground I would use it for a dessert stand
ReplyDeleteI am sitting here with mouth wide open that you thought to use coat hooks as legs. Brilliant.

It would look beautiful in the center of a round table to hold the napkins, salt and pepper or whatever... Maybe even a plant when dinner is over.

I see a plant stand. Fill a beautiful old Haeger white planter with ivy and that would do it for me. That is what I have been doing lately, repotting plants.
ReplyDeleteI love this. I love the plant stand idea or a centerpiece holder for a table.
ReplyDeleteLaura
Very creative, Rosemary! I am thinking a pedestal for a large cloche. I love it and thank you for sharing this at my party.
