Letters, Marble, etc.

Beautiful day today.  I worked outside, and took a few quick shots to share.

I seemed to be in letter mode today.  After painted the picnic basket, I decided to add a little something extra.

This Paris sign started as a piece of wood I picked up at a garage sale.

I attached an ornate fragment, and gave it multiple layers of white paint/gesso.  Next, I stenciled "Paris", distressed it a little, and gave it a wash of watered down black paint.

The marble top iron table you see did not start out life this way.  I've had the old base for a while.  I liked the rusty finish, so I sealed it.  The vintage marble came from an estate sale.  I was giddy when I saw that it was a perfect fit.

I'll have more to share before the weekend.  See ya soon.

Debbiedoos: Newbie Party Reunion  Thanks for the memories, Debbie.

  6. I can't believe you painted the identical picnic basket that I painted today! I'm still at the white base coat stage on mine and haven't decided what to put on the top. Wish I had also been putting a fab marble top on a wrought iron table. sigh. ~ Maureen

  35. Your projects are always so beautiful- I love them all! :) I'm a little jealous of that marble top- I've been looking for one for an old table I got from my dad, but I need a round top. Getting one cut for it is way too expensive- apparently round is not something the stone cutters like to do. :|

  36. Thanks for more inspiration! Love both pieces but that marble table is a real beauty!

  37. Beautiful {as usual!}. You're such an inspiration. I'm going to have to borrow you for a sign I keep putting off because I'm afraid I'll mess it up! lol And love love the marble table. We have two slabs of weathered marble outside that we plan to use for our kitchen island (another project I'm working up the nerve to tackle). Thank you so much for taking the time to link up your creativity, Rosemary. I'm going to include a link back in this week's highlights. ;)

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

  40. professionally designed, let the designer know ahead of time that you'd like to use a photo, and give them a soft copy of the photo so they can incorporate it.
