An Advertising Piece

I'm still in spring cleaning mode, and I'm still discovering things in my garage I forgot were there.  So, I'm going to be making and redesigning all kinds of things this week.  Here is an advertising piece I just finished from some of my bits and pieces.

I've been trying to decide what to do with these old wood fragments I picked up at a garage sale. They were originally part of a table that was not salvagable.

Then I remembered these vintage advertising stamps I had.

I gave one of the fragments multiple layers of a white paint and primer mix.  Then, I used black archival ink to stamp the contractor ad in the center, followed by distressing.  I liked it as a sign, but wanted functionality.  So, I added a couple stainless steel hooks on either side.  These are the screw in kind.

I finished it with a soft paste wax, and a hanger on the back.

Keys, jewelry, towels?

Lots of projects await.   See ya soon.

  24. I love all the chippy painted stuff. My husband always says it looks like I dragged it behind the car for a few miles. Ha!! I just joined your blog and hope you will join me to read about my farm girl life and much more. I am going to look and see how far Kane County fairgrounds is from me. I just might show up.
