Okay, before I show you a few pics from my show this past weekend, I promised to show you the before of this piece.
Here is the before.
It had issues. Not the least of which was, it had no top. I cut a piece of wood for the top, and primed it. I then added nail head trip.
I went over the trim with a generous layer of wood filler, sanded it smooth, and added an applique to the top drawer. Next came multiple layers of paint, including a layer of grey. The top coat is creamy white. I also had to add the hardware. A little distressing, and wax, finished it off.
It was one of the first things to go at the show. It went so fast, that I didn't get a shot of it in my booth. I'll be back with some pics from the show. I did well. Right now, I'm all tuckered out.

ReplyDeleteHey Rosemary, I am wondering --you and I have talked online a few times...and I have been trying to get my blog lovingallthingsfrench.blogspot.com I know that the content is not quite there yet...I am kind of waiting till we move and really get into the thick of things with our new home as far as decorating goes. I have to put my pride on the shelf for a moment. Could you tell me...am I doing something WAY wrong...as far as people following me on my blog? I have had the same 3 people and sometimes a 4th goes on and off...I mean come on!! I try not to take this personal because It is not really a finished process...I am learning as I go..and I make changes as I learn things...but am I like blocked or is something wrong with the way I have it set up for people to follow me??? Is it just that bad that no one is interested??!! I have to know...I tend to take things kind of personal...its not that I need 1000's of followers or feel I derserve a huge amount...but it feels odd that only these same 3 people and no more are following. I would SOOO appreciate your honesty and help...I do enjoy doing it just for my own self...but its making me feel kind of bad I must say...and I am wondering if I even want to spend the kind of time I really am spending...even though, like I said, I enjoy it for myself...but I would think its kind of like scrapbooking...If I were to spend tons of time on beautiful scrap books and then NO ONE wants to ever look at my finished book...ever! OK ...Im whining...sorry. Let me know how I could fix this if you could Rosemary!
ReplyDeleteOh my it is so gorgeous... how lucky that it found you for its restoration/ revamp!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing. Would you share it at Furniture Friday @ Decorating Insanity? Last weeks party is still open.
