I can't tell you how many projects I have going on right now. Not to mention everything I'm unearthing while I Spring clean. I have more vintage sewing machine drawers than I thought. So, I've been working on a few. The two here have the same design, but I gave them a different paint finish.
I stenciled the side of this one, and distressed the lettering to a fade. I decided not to paint the interior. I love the ornate details on the handle.
This one doesn't have as much distressing, and no stenciling. I painted the interior. Plus, I added a little texture to the paint, for more of a layered look.
Both drawers were finished with paste wax.
I made tags with the image from my vintage guardian angel postcard. I copied it onto photo paper, and bonded it to thick card stock.
The reverse was decoupaged with vintage sheet music. A little vintage lace ribbon, and it's done.
I'll have more to share tomorrow.

I won one of Rosemary's sewing drawers in Giveaway #7. It's beautiful, and it is being used as a very charming and elegant music CD holder by my CD player.

There are a myriad of uses for these drawers. You can place them side by side on a shelf and store ribbons, scraps, art supplies, cards etc. Great job Rosemary!

I can't really say which paint finish I prefer. I'm leaning toward the textured one. Decoupaging both sides of the tag is a great idea! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ~ as usual! Love the little tags too.

You continue to amaze me with your knowledge of paint techniques and crafts, Rosemary. You should teach somewhere, girl! lol!

You SHOULD teach somewhere. Maybe an online video or something. Hmmm. :) I love the sheet music on the back of the tags and I love how rustic the first drawer is.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tags. I love the postcard image and the sheet music with the lace tie. Very sweet.
