Remember when I said I was narrowing my focus when it came to fresh acquisitions? Well, although there was a ton of "stuff" at the flea market Sunday, only a few items really spoke to me.
Drool, drool. This chair was calling my name. The fabric is shot, but I can fix that.
Look at all that beautiful weathered paint.
I brought it home, along with a rusty vintage egg basket, and a beautiful celluloid plaque. I love this plaque, because it's hollow, and has sharp impressions on the back. I can use it to make more plaques, or single images. It's the perfect mold.
My hubby found this chandelier at a garage sale Saturday, while I was busy with the last day of our garage sale. I told him to find something cool, and he did. Love him.
I made some new contacts today, and I'll be shopping a source of similar items tomorrow. I'll be sharing my focused finds, and redesigns all week. I'm chilling the rest of the day. See ya soon.

Wow, Rosemary! It looks as though the flea market in your neck of the woods is much more refined than the ones in my area! These are fabulous finds! I just love the chippy paint colors on that chair! This is the look I have been trying to achieve on some of my frames and mirrors with ASCP! Thank you for the inspiration! Have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeleteYou find the greatest things!!....Love that chair and I am sure you will work our miracles on it!
ReplyDeleteLove your new finds. I find that it pays to stay focused when I go antiquing/thrifting too. I set my mind on specific things I'm looking for. Otherwise, it can feel overwhelming when you get there and see SO MUCH to choose from. Most of those places are final sale anyway. Love that little chair you found. It's so french looking. Your husband has a good eye too, I see!
ReplyDeleteThat chair is gorgeous! and the crazy thing is I have that exact chandy in my master bedroom! For sure the same one! Glad I'm not the only one who thought it rocked!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!

Girl, you got some great stuff... if I sent my hubs off, there's no tellin' what he'd bring back.. certainly not an awesome chandy...
ReplyDeleteHi Rosemary! Love that chair! It speaks to me too! The carvings and worn paint are wonderful! Too bad that the fabric is shot because it looks like it was really lovely at one point. Love the rest of your acquisitions and your husband did a great job finding that chandelier! I've been looking for a similar one to revamp at sales I've gone to latey, but so far, all I have seen are the standard builder's brass ones - not what I've got in mind. I already did the one that was in this house - it was in the dining room and I painted it, made shades for it and a chain cover and moved it to my kitchen table are =:) Anyway, looking forward to reading more and looking at more pics, as always. You're a "must read" on my blog list for sure! Take care! xoxo, Leena
