I've had this table for a while. It was in very sad shape. The top had loose veneer, and there were gouges all over the place. I glued the veneer, and painted it. Still, I wasn't really happy with it. So, I was just using it as a table for display.
See those swoopy lines? If you've been with me since the beginning, you know I don't care for those. I usually tone them down a bit with a little filler. Which is what I did with "Feminine Flair" last year.
So, I decided to give the table a few more layers (including filler), add a little embellishment, and embrace the imperfections. Before I gave it a base coat of black, I added appliques,
beading to the edge,
and the legs.
Then I alternated layers of dark and light grey paint, wiping back each layer before it dried. Perfectly imperfect, with a bit of character.
Love what you added to that little table! Love it. Glad you are having a break from the heat. Before you know it we'll all be complaining about the cold:)
