My living room changes constantly, because I either sell something in it, or I keep changing my mind about what I want in it, or how I want things to look.
This is the before.
I gave it a couple coats of white paint, followed by a little antiquing, and a bit of distressing.
However, I'm thinking about doing a finish similar to the frames I shared with you.
Hmmmmm. Should I change it?
I gave the table it's sitting on the same finish, but I'm starting to hate it. I may just switch it out for a different table, or stand. I have a couple in the abyss.
I'm also thinking about doing something different with the other mirror. Maybe a chalkboard, sign......, not sure.
Here are some of the other frames I'm working on.
I turned it upside down, added a clay rose, and attached an architectural fragment.
I'm not sure if this finish will stay, or if it's going to be a message board...... Decisions, decisions.

You are amazingly talented, lady!!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so pretty. I love the center one that you turned upside down...gorgeous!!! Can't wait to see what you choose to do!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW...love the blueish tint in the example you showed...nice!!!
Rosemary, I just love that blue and white frame. As far as I am concerned you could paint all your frames like that...GORGEOUS! PLEASE show us how to get that look! I would love you to do a tutorial!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had those decisions to make, Rosemary! I love the finish you did on the previous frames, but I also like how you did the mirror. It's a tough call, but if you are going to keep it, I'd go with my gut. : )
ReplyDeleteOh, Rosemary....all these mirrors are beautiful. I don't think you can wrong with anything you decide:-)

Curbside??? Seriously??? You must live in a treasure box of a town, girl! Wow! I would love to see that beautiful blue technique on your big mirror. It adds so much depth and character! I love seeing those big mirrors propped up against a bedroom wall. Sooo pretty! :)

I vote for a chalkboard for the other frame too. I love how you think outside the box Rosemary and add other elements to what's already there.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like what you did with the center frame.... more to my liking. The big mirror looks wonderful, but if you decide on changing it to the bluish style go for it if you want a little bit of color..... either way would look fantastic. I know decisions decisions.... it can drive you crazy sometimes.
ReplyDeleteOh I love your curbside mirror--what an amazing difference! That oval frame is gorgeous! Do you ever just sell empty frames? You do such a great job with the finishes I bet people would buy them just to set around on their own.
ReplyDeleteHi Rosemary,
ReplyDeleteGreat finish! But I like the other one better, I think it is because of the colour though! Really all of them are beautiful... I think the blue would be beautiful with any of your lavender creations too!
All the Best,
Christine
That first mirror is amazing because it was not pretty before but not touched by you it is! Thank you for your beautiful and kind comment about our Clovis today. It means so much to us, Olive
ReplyDeleteWell I will tell you what's for sure... whatever you decide, if you're doing it...it will be gorgeous. Not been around long but been around long enough to know that!

It's all so beautiful. Love all the frames and that mirror is gorgeous!!!! I think I might paint it grey. What a great guy you have :)
ReplyDeleteI love the mirror just the way you did it, and love the other frames too.
ReplyDeleteI try to leave mirrors, and not just make them frames. Frames are easier to find than mirrors, but of course it is all up to you.

what a lucky find! I love the finish on all your others but in answer to your question... NOPE! leave the white mirror as is, it's divine, seriously!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, that's clever to turn the mirror upside down. Love it! It must be Feb. that brings on the indecision. I'm stumped on everything right now.
ReplyDeleteI love that you thought to add that clay rose. Beautifully done! I prefer the lighter distressed finish. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely finds, lovely paint. Which I could find curbside stuff. I am always looking! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue color of the frame and that is what I would want my mirror by you to look like
ReplyDeleteI am home from work today enjoying the snow from our blizzard
Rosemary,
ReplyDeleteI really love that blue/white frame, but I love the look you have on the curbside mirror too.
Blessings,
Linda
honestly...how can people just throw beautiful things like these mirrors away?!! love, LOVE!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of mirrors. Great details. You do have some serious decisions to make, but I bet they will be even more incredible when you give it your magic touch.
ReplyDeleteWow, hubby scored finding that mirror! And more points for picking it up and bringing it home to you:) I think it looks amazing after you gave it your magic touch!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the mirror with the blue (although it looks pretty as is too)!
ReplyDeleteDecisions, decisions, but you go with your gut, girl, it always guides you in the right direction...your work is fab-u-lous!
