Angelic Magnetic Board

This creation, was a potential pillow, that became a magnetic board.

After printing my angel image onto canvas cloth, I set it aside.  My original intention was to make a pillow.  However, the more I looked at it, the more I thought it would look great hanging.

Well, as long as I was making an art piece, why not make it functional art.  Instead of bonding it to a piece of wood, I used metal.  I knew immediately which of my ornate wood frames I would use.  I painted the frame, and a rose magnet a soft white, followed by an antique wash.

It still looks nice without the magnet.

I think I'll make another one, or two, or.......

  9. Rosemary can I ask how you printed the image to the canvas? Did you send it through the printer ironed to wax paper or transfer it. It came out lovely.

  13. That's a great way to display fabric without it being a pillow. I love the idea of using it over metal so you can use magnets on it. So clever!

  15. What a stroke of genius! I love the idea of the fabric as a magnet board -- this idea lends itself to being used by those of us 'less-creative' too by using fabric that's already printed, etc. :) Thanks Rosemary!
