I didn't paint a single thing here. How do you like my faux book bundle? These are the wooden books I showed you in my last post. They just seemed unfinished after I decoupaged them with script.
So, I dyed them. Now, they have a nice weathered look.
Like I said, I've been going through my stash. The post caps, and hemp string were packed away.
The rope urn is a recent estate sale find. I love the wood frame inside.
The footstool you see peeking out, didn't start out as a footstool. I've had this table top for a while. I believe at some point in it's life there was a marble insert.
Since I have a lot of these.
I used four matching ones as feet.
I just stuck a pillow inside a burlap sack, and laid it on top.
Hmmmm, I kinda like the raw look. Would you paint it? Or, are you feeling the natural vibe?

I think the footstool looks cool as it is, Rosemary. I LOVE those faux books! I didn't realize they were that small when you first showed them. Love 'em! Any chance they are hitting your Etsy? : ) {Yes, I'm interested!}
ReplyDeleteWhat a stash of goodies you have! That urn is fabulous and I'm liking the footstool just the way it is.
ReplyDeleteI love your books, they look so effective and the addition of the little dried flowers is just lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe wooden books look so great!Your pictures are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThose book bundles look great! I thought they were the real thing at first. The foot stool idea is really creative too. I would probably paint it if it were me but it would depend on where I was going to use it. If you're going to sell them, you might paint some and leave some natural for people to have a choice.
ReplyDeleteLuv the faux books > The addition of the dried roses and the twine just finished it off, didn't it? The stool... hmmm.. I am torn. I like the raw look, but I think it would be adorable white :-/
ReplyDeleteI know.. no help. Hahahaaa.
Hugs, Gee
I'm feelin it!! Beautiful Rosemary!
ReplyDeleteWhat talent you have and a eye for seeing things further outside the box then anyone I know..well done..
ReplyDeleteI adore your vignette. I am also glad you described the elements as I had not appreciated each one for their unique allure. Creative Hearts are Happy Hearts...
ReplyDeleteI think I'm feeling the natural vibe. Love how your books turned out....so pretty!

I haven't posted this yet, but I bought a raw oval stool base. I fully intended on painting it because that is what we do right? Well I found an oval tray that fit the top and now it is a chair side table. It like your stool looks great in the raw as it is, so I say, let's not paint EVERYTHING...let's leave at least one piece raw!
ReplyDeleteI like mixing the natural look with my painted stuff so I think you could go either way. Looks great natural :)
ReplyDeleteLove your vignette. I books are great and I would leave the stool as it is.

ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I'd leave the footstool a'natural.

Rosemary, the footstool is adorable! Love the book script, too! Matches my kitchen window treatments! You are so darn creative!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's all so pretty in the "natural" state! I don't know if I'd paint the footstool BUT with all of the beautiful finishes you've created, I can't imagine you could go wrong either way!

Love that little impromptu stool. I'm all about natural but a nice shabby chic would look good on it as well. I love your blog!
