Perfume Ad and Plaque

This plaque and ad go together well.

I've had this vintage composition plaque for a while.  I don't remember when I painted it, or how many layers I used.  It has grey tones, and a wash of white.  I distressed the center to reveal some of the original gold.

The surface is no where near flat.  See the hanger pressing through the front?  It's also very grainy.  So, instead of doing a transfer, I printed my perfume ad onto tissue, and decoupaged it.

You can still see the grain under the image.  The specks of gold bleeds through as well, and the paint is cracking.  There was a chemical reaction between the original paint, and the paint I used.  A happy accident.  I love the way this looks.
