Spruced Up Music Box

I thought this little music box could use a little sprucing up.

Here's the before.  I'll be working on the box underneath it next.

I don't have photos of  the part where I decoupaged a piece of script paper on top, thought it was too dark, white washed over the entire thing, sanded the top, completely took off  the script, thought about redoing it, but decided I liked it.  So, I just finish it off with a little embellishment.

I added an ornate metal fragment I painted, and distressed.  Then, one of my vintage numbered tacks.

I used gesso for the wash.  I just brushed it on, and wiped it back.

A softer look.

See ya soon.

  8. See Rosemary this is why I love you so, you have my heart with all you create, I love little and big boxes and I use to work a lot with them in styling them into little pieces of old.
I could create right along side you day after day, to bad we were not neighbors we could shake up the town with treasure hunting to then have many sleepless nights in deep creative mode :))

When I visit you Rosemary you truly inspire my thoughts and as I am commenting you with one eye on the screan of my commenting the other eye is eyeing up things around me I can create with that's the creative push you throw us into. :))

Thank you for once again inspiring more out of me!

  12. Lovely as usual! I went thrifting last weekend and found these little lovely metal flower candle holders and thought of you... so I'm painting a load of goods today and grabbed them and they are far from yours but I still love them! I'm gonna take a little sand paper and let the tips show through a little more and they will go on the same shelf as the sweet little rose I got from you! Thanks for the inspiration!
