I was going through withdrawal. I needed to get out, I needed to hunt a little, and I needed to find REAL bargains. I achieved all three. I had enough energy to hit a few garage sales today, and here's a bit of what I found.
I love this vintage lampshade. When I got it home, I knew I had just the right embellishment for it.
I had a millinery piece that looks like it was made for it.
Alabaster birds.
A pan stamped "France", and small ornate metal frames.
This vintage stamp was only 50 cents. I love the fact that the numbers are kinda large. I can add numerals to quite a few projects.
It was the rusty handle on this basket that got me.
I'm keeping things simple these days. I'll only be altering a few of these finds. I'm focusing on items that don't require major overhauls. I do have a pair of tables I'm transforming, but, it's a simple transformation. I'm also slowly going through the rest of my boxes in the garage (a.k.a., The Abyss).
I'm planning to set up at a local flea market this Sunday if it doesn't rain. I won't be doing any of the lifting, or packing. I have three strong men for that. I'll be the director, and salesman.
Taking it slow and easy. I want to make a full recovery.
See ya soon.

ReplyDeleteSounds like you are on your way, Rosemary!
ReplyDeleteI love your treasures - and understand "needing a hunt fix."
I am trying like crazy to just stay AWAY from it, I have too much I need to work on before bringing in more - but I think of it all day every day - it is FUN! (But does all up!)
Get well, sweet lady.
Good luck on your flea market this Sunday - hoping for perfect weather for you!
Glad you are feeling better! Hope the rain holds off so you can enjoy your weekend!

I'm glad you're taking care of yourself Rosemary! You need to keep it up, don't fall back into overdoing it. Force yourself to sit down and do nothing for an hour a day! Love your new finds:)
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are listening to your body and your family and friends. Love the lamp shade and every thing else.
ReplyDeleteWe need to get out and explore and have new adventures. Glad you got out and enjoyed yourself, plus you found goodies. I had a pair of birds like that many years ago. I have also used that multi-wire wood handled thing to cut butter into flour when my grandmother was teaching me how to bake. I don't know the name of it. The lampshade is wonderful and I also love the little pitcher. xoxo
ReplyDeleteRosemary, you found many treasures! The lamp shade is wonderful! I remember the Alabaster birds- guess I'm vintage too! Lovely finds for a lovely lady! Glad to hear you are feeling better! Prayers still coming your way!

The flea market is a good idea, as long as you let your three handsome helpers do all the work! I really want you to be well too and will continue to send prayers and healing thoughts your way! xoxo, Leena
