Sorry, but once again, I whipped through this before I thought about a before. The frame what originally white.
I used the homemade paint recipe from the Farragoz course. I just kept mixing, and experimenting with different shades until I got the look I wanted. I used gold for the highlights, and distressed the finish.
The chalkboard is an older chalkboard that I aged further with a sanding sponge.
I think I like it.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! love the concept of a distressed chalkboard.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Rosemary!
ReplyDeleteI love it, Rosemary! I love the aged look to it, too. It makes sense to age the chalkboard, too, because I don't think something "new" or "fresh" looking would have worked as well with the frame. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love it! Perfect patina and I love that you distressed the blackboard too.
ReplyDeleteLooks just like your touch on it
ReplyDeleteif I would see it at a sale I would know it's yours LOL

Love, love, love it! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWow,I never thought about trying to age the actual chalkboard before.....was yours already in the frame or did you insert it? Absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks BEAUTIFUL and as if it has been around for many years. Unlike my freshly painted chalkboard that looks boringly brand new and unused, lol.
ReplyDeleteThese look really, really lovely together and yes, they look as if they've always been that way. Your new paint techniques are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your creations. They are my style. Great move on sanding the chalkboard. Are you going to sell it or keep it? what would you charge? Karen
ReplyDeleteRosemary, the frame is beautifully distressed. I have started the Farragoz course and I am loving it. I am looking forward to finishing the long line of frames and tables I have ready to makeover.
ReplyDeleteI think I love it!
ReplyDeleteI think I like it too. Your vision was definitely achieved.
ReplyDeleteLove it, as always!!

Sounds like you are being inspired and enjoying the Farragoz course Rosemary. I love the paint effects you have employed so far. I was disappointed to pass up an opportunity to do the course too due to our new business. You fill me with envy :)
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous this turned out. You have aged your blackboard to perfection and the frame is exquisite. They do look like they started life together many moons ago.
ReplyDeleteGosh, this looks like something I'd find in a Paris flea market! I'd love for you to share it today at Stylish Friday Finds link party!
ReplyDeleteHave a stylish day!
