Salvaged Photo Holders
While sorting through my stash of vintage parts, I decided to make some photo holders.
Actually, they're great for holding any type of card.
Actually, they're great for holding any type of card.
The one above was made with a vintage silver plate lid. I gave it a weathered white finish, with a touch of rust, and, used vintage wire for the holder. Yes, I have miles of vintage wire.
This next holder came about when I thought of something to do with this bag of vintage porcelain and metal flowers. I salvage these pieces from a broken wreath I purchased at a thrift store a while back.
I used a salvaged metal lamp part for the flower pot, and, added a flower, leaf, and, my wire holder.
Quick setting cement holds the three elements in, and, paint unifies the whole.
I have a bunch of flowers left, and, lots of lamp parts. So, I'll be making a lot more.

IT NEVER ENDS, DIGGING THROUGH MY GARAGE
I've been digging through boxes in my garage. Yes, even after sales, shows, etc., I continue to unearth some of my vintage finds.
I've decided to start listing some of my stash in my Etsy shop.
As much as I enjoy creating, I enjoy purging just as much.
Lot's of stuff unearthed at sales over the years.
Lot's of stuff unearthed at sales over the years.
I can't tell you how much salvaged metal, hardware, ephemera, appliques, etc., I have. Seriously, I can't.
I have no problem parting with items, because, there's always more to get.
So, keep an eye out. I'll be parting with a lot of decorative curiosities. You can find them in my Etsy shop by clicking HERE.
I have more digging to do. It never ends.

Romantic Book Bundle
This piece is comprised of multiple things that had nothing to do with each other originally. It sold quickly at one of my shows. It's a very simple assemblage, that has a romantic vibe.
I don't have a before, but, I started with a book fragment.
It had no cover, and some of the pages were missing. I used watered down pink paint to tint the edges of the pages. You can read one of my previous post on using paint as "dye" HERE.
I also tinted a salvaged French book page and decoupaged it to the spine. A ballerina image from The Graphics Fairy was used for the cover.

I even tinted the hemp twine slightly, and, finished the bundle with a few sprigs of lavender.
I thought about adding something more, but, didn't have time.
Obviously, the lady who purchased it, thought it was fine the way it was.

Simply romantic.
