I don't have a before, but, I started with a book fragment.
It had no cover, and some of the pages were missing. I used watered down pink paint to tint the edges of the pages. You can read one of my previous post on using paint as "dye" HERE.
I also tinted a salvaged French book page and decoupaged it to the spine. A ballerina image from The Graphics Fairy was used for the cover.

I even tinted the hemp twine slightly, and, finished the bundle with a few sprigs of lavender.
I thought about adding something more, but, didn't have time.
Obviously, the lady who purchased it, thought it was fine the way it was.

Thanks Cynthia. A little touch of lavender.
DeleteI love it, it is so beautiful! Jo
ReplyDeleteRosemary! I think this book is a prize! How fragile and vintage looking with the perfect "Rosemary" additions to make it a piece of art! I would like this for my oval cherry side table that sits next to my lovely distressed hutch!
ReplyDeleteLove this! A great way to use some of my lavender. Love the idea of tinting the book edges too.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and romantic looking, Rosemary!
ReplyDeleteI love it, Rosemary! I don't think it needs any further embellishing, it is wonderful in its elegant simplicity:)
