THE COMING NEW YEAR

The countdown is on.  Wishing you all the best in the coming NEW YEAR.

I've been hibernating a bit lately.  Lots of rest after a year of many shows, ups, downs, blessings, and contemplation.

Whatever kind of year you've had, I'm hoping the new year brings many happy times for you all.

XOXO ROSEMARY

HOLIDAY VINTAGE FAIRE

It's going to be a busy week for me.

I have a birthday this week.  I turn 58.

Then there's Thanksgiving.  I'm thankful for so much.  Family, friends, a roof over my head, food to eat.......................  Let's  not take the little things for granted.

Then, there's my last show of the year.  The Holiday Vintage Market.  I've already started packing.  I'm bringing quite a few small items (Christmas and vintage).

So, if you can, "Meet me at the Faire".

You can get more info HERE.

FARRAGOZ GIVEAWAY, FREE Hobby Courses

FARRAGOZ is giving away the first of 5 new hobby courses, the Patina PLATES Course - Collection 1, for free to 20 Villabarnes followers
All you have to do once you've signed up is to talk to the other Villabarnes followers in the group on FARRAGOZ's new voice chat facility called "STUDIO TALK" while you make a few or all of the plates.
According to FARRAGOZ, STUDIO TALK is essentially just connecting one student with the other students in the group. So rather than working alone, you have someone to talk to in your studio if you feel like it. It's like a group of friends talking on the phone at the same time. You don't need to talk about the course, you can talk about anything you wish.
In the course, you will be upcycling 9 small plates. They can even be broken plates that were glued together because once you are done with them, they will be completely covered in paper.
The process is really simple and very cheap. You start by printing the artworks, followed by making the glue, pasting the artworks, mixing the watercolour paint yourself in tiny quantities just as much as you need and painting the colours one at a time, sealing your plates and finally taking a beautifully styled photo to show the rest of the group.
All the steps are worked out in the finest detail. You just need to follow along and go through the process one plate at a time. You always know what to do next so even if you take a break, it is very easy to start again.
Every plate gets a label on the back with the artist's name, the date and the place it was painted. I think it can make a really unique and personal gift for someone special.
Displayed on the wall, they make a stunning collection. Or you can use them individually with other objects to create vignettes.

The aim is that you have fun making them and in the process, learn a few very valuable techniques and hopefully discover a new way of looking at traditional paint. Making your own materials often sounds daunting for most people, but this will show you how easy and economical it can be, using basic everyday ingredients, with the most authentic looking results as a bonus. In fact, the process may well have been practised exactly like this several hundreds of years ago.
So, if you think this is something you may be interested in, just click THIS link. It will lead you to the checkout page. Then enter the coupon code PLATES1FREE to get it at no cost. Remember to click the "pay with PayPal" button, but don't worry, you won't actually get to the paying stage because of the 100% discount.

LAST SALE and LAST FOUR SHOWS

Oh my, it's been awhile.  I've had a lot going on.  To friends and family dealing with illnesses, storms, storm aftermaths, tragedies, etc., to everyday life.

I'm about to have my second, and, last sale of the year.

I'll have pretty, salvage, primitive, shabby, industrial, etc.  I'll have boutique set-ups, and, boxes of miscellaneous items to dig through.  Come on out if you can.  I may or may not do this next year.

SALE AFTERMATH and THE VINTAGE FAIRE

It was harder having a sale at my house, than setting up at a show.  It took me a good chunk of the week to recover.  I'm very grateful for everyone who stopped by, especially people who were just driving by and bought piles.

Now, I'm getting ready for The Vintage Faire in Minooka, IL this Sunday, August 27th.

See ya soon.

SALE TIME

I've been working like crazy to get ready for my sale this Friday, and Saturday.

You see, my goal is to eventually get my garage to look like my back room here.

However, I don't think I'm going to reach that goal this time.  There are piles of stuff to go through still.

I've got pretty, salvage, primitive, industrial, etc.  There will be boutique-like set ups, and, boxes to dig through.  Come on out.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.

The sale will be August 18th and 19th, from 8:00-3:00.  The location is 171st (one hundred seventy first street) and Burnham Ave., in Lansing, IL.  Look for the tan tent.

AUGUST SALE and SHOW

At this time of the year, I've usually had at least one sale.  However, I've been very busy, and, my garage (aka The Abyss) is a little scarier than usual.   So, although I'm still working on it, I'm having a sale August 18th and 19th.

No, this is not my garage.  I WISH.  This is my little studio/backroom.

My sale is in Lansing, IL, at 171st and Burnham Ave.  There will be a tent out front. The sale will be under the tent, on the lawn, in the driveway, garage, and, backroom.  WHEW.

I'll share more photos as I get things organized.

Until then, my next show will be the 3 French Hens French Country Market in Morris, IL, August 12th.

VINTAGE FAIRE and UPCOMING SALE

We've had some hot and humid days recently, and, if you know me, you know I'm not a hot weather person.  I kinda hibernate in the air conditioning.  However, the last couple days have been cooler, and, beautiful.

So, I've been getting ready for the July Vintage Faire in Minooka, IL.  Click HERE for more info.

I'm also getting ready for a sale.  My garage (aka The Abyss) had become overwhelming again.  I haven't had a sale this year.  IT'S TIME, and, IT'S GOING TO BE HUGE.  I'll keep you posted.

SHOW PHOTOS

It was a super beautiful sunny day at the 3 French Hens Market.

There was a huge crowd from start to finish.

I still managed to get a few photos to share.

I sold every single one of the vintage metal bins I shared in my last post.  Folks were buying multiples.  All I did was clean them up, and, add a weathered number to each one.

This beautiful lady purchased one of my favorite finds.  I vintage shawl paired with a laced hanger.  I found the combo at a moving sale.

The collapsible fleur-de-lis plant stand above left a very happy young lady.  You can see her looking back in the next photo.

It was a very successful day,

and, I'm very grateful. My friend Rhonda did very well also.

Time for a little rest.
