The 3 French Hens Holiday Market was a great success.  I'm so very grateful for Traci, Monica, and everyone who worked so hard to make it happen.

Well, I tried to get a few photos, but I was super busy.  Quite a few of the items disappeared before I could get a shot.

As always, I so very grateful for my customers.

It was a whirlwind.

WINTER IN PARIS Market

That's the theme for the upcoming 3 French Hens Holiday Market.  If you can make it, MAKE IT.

It's been a long busy show season for me, but, I've been soooooooo looking forward to this event.  It's definitely one of my favorites.

I've been working diligently to prepare.  My studio looks like a Christmas explosion.  I'll share photos as soon as I get things a little more organized.  In the meantime you can get more info about the market HERE.  There are giveaways too.

THE SHOWS CONTINUE

I had a great time at the Sweet Pickins Market in Homer Glen, IL.

It was HOT, but there was a huge crowd, and, I had a lot of happy customers.

I'm very thankful.

It's been a very, very, VERY busy show season for me.  Sorry I haven't been in touch for awhile.  Just stopping in to let you know that I will be a vendor at the SWEET PICKINS market in Homer Glen, IL this coming Sunday, September 16, 2018.

MORE PURGING and 3 FRENCH HENS

It's going to be a busy week for me.  I'm doing double duty.  I'm having another purge sale this Thursday and Friday, July 12th and 13th.

I sold a bunch at my last sale, but, I never got all the way back into the garage.  There are boxes I did not go through, and, I've decided to get rid of some things in the house. Plus, I'm constantly buying.  So, the stuff never ends.

My sale starts at 7:30am.  The sale is in Lansing, IL, 171st Street and Burnham Ave.  Look for the tan tent.

This will be followed by the 3 FRENCH HENS market on Saturday.

It's their 10 year anniversary.  There will be giveaways, prizes, and CAKE.  More info HERE.

GARAGE SALE TIME

Well, it's that time again.  Every year I reach a point where I just can't take the mounting stash in my garage (aka The Abyss).  I'm having my first garage sale of the year this Thursday, June 14th.

I've got vintage,

painted,

rustic,

hardware, artwork, books, and a ton more.

The sale is in Lansing, IL, 171st Street and Burnham Ave.  The sale will be 8:00 - 3:00.  Maybe longer if I have the energy.  If you're local, come on by.  Look for the tan tent.

Okay, back to digging through boxes.  Not sure what's in some of them.

THE VINTAGE FAIRE

With the show season in full swing, I've been pretty busy, hunting, gathering, repurposing, etc. I'll be at THE VINTAGE FAIRE this Sunday, May 27, 2018.  This is a tiny bit of what I'm bringing.

It's their first outdoor market this year, and, I'm so looking forward to it.  It's one of my favorites.

SHOW TIME

I've been laying low.  I've been getting a bit of rest, selling on Etsy, waiting for "Spring" to actually start here in the midwest, etc.  However, show season has arrived, so it's time to get going.

PAINTING QUESTIONS and ETSY

Alright, so, I've been getting emails about some of my older posts.  Questions regarding my painting techniques, etc.  I can't tell you how many questions I've been asked about this stand I painted nearly 6 years ago.

If you've been following me for awhile, you know that my painting is more of an artistic approach.  I rarely do things exactly the same way twice.  I experiment a lot.  I layer until I get the look I want, and on and on.  Such was the case with this stand.  I don't always use the same paint.  The base color was a grey primer, but, I don't recall what brand.  This was followed with layers of paint in various shades of white and grey.  I highlighted the details with white.

I've used this basic technique many times as a finish, and, as a starter before going nuts with more layers.  Although it focuses on gesso, you can use watered down paint for a similar look.  One thing I always suggest is that you practice on a scrap piece of wood before tackling a big project.

I'm also a FARRAGOZ affiliate.  A great course on creating weathered finishes, like these projects I had fun transforming.

You can also learn how to mix your own gesso.
