I just finished this chest. The inspiration for it came from a recent redesign of mine. Can you guess which one?
They look good together, don't they?
The firescreen was black, and the chest started like this.
After the necessary cleaning and priming, I applied a swag of roses,
I gave it a coat of black paint, so that the base was similar to the firescreen. Then, after drybrushing multiple layers, I had a complimentary piece. Yes, it needed crystal knobs.
No stains and brews here. The light drybrushing with shades of black and grey showing through, along with the crystal knobs gave it a graceful feel, like the firescreen.
Check back tomorrow, for more redesigns and finds, including this.
She's another fave of mine, and she has a function. Come back for the full view.

I love your little dresser and firescreen. The technique that you used is very french chic.
